May 17, 2018

Governor John Hancock's mansion on Beacon Hill was demolished in 1863, and parts of the building were sold off or given away. Students from the North Bennet Street School Preservation Carpentry program have been commissioned to build a full-scale reproduction of the fine Georgian home's opulent surrounding entryway, which will go on exhibit in the Old State House in June 2018. Full story here.
