The event includes on-bike skills building for children and adults, free bike checks, and a family-friendly bike ride. The rain date is Sunday, April 28, 2024.

Here is the plan for the day:

• 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. On-Bike Educational Programs & Free Bike Checks by Bikes Not Bombs

   Location: tennis courts near Shattuck Picnic Grove

• Learn-to-Ride workshop for adults (all genders) - Basic Skills Level 1 & 2. Bikes and helmets provided. Registration required. 
• On-bike activities for children (ages 5-12). Bikes and helmets provided. 
• Bring your bike for a free bike check by Bikes Not Bombs

12 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. Prep for the ride

 Location: Shattuck Picnic Grove

• Stop by our bike decoration station or get your bike checked so you’re ready for a great ride!
• Anyone joining the ride should check in by 12:20 p.m.

12:30 p.m. - 1 p.m. Family-friendly Bike Ride 

Ride departure location: Shattuck Picnic Grove

Ride end location: William J Devine Clubhouse, Maggie's Grill, 1 Circuit Drive Rd, Dorchester, MA 02121

• We will lead a 3.5-mile family-friendly bike ride around Franklin Park! 
• Limited number of bicycles are available. You must register for the ride, and request a free bike rental.

1 p.m. Lunch by Maggie's Grill

 Location: William J Devine Clubhouse, Maggie's Grill, 1 Circuit Drive Rd, Dorchester, MA 02121

• Free lunch provided to participants who registered and attended any part of the day’s events. Registration will be limited to 100 participants.

The rain date for the event is Sunday, April 28, 2024.

We will focus on preparing Nira Rock Urban Wild for spring. This means improving trail drainage to deal with rainfall, cleaning up entrances and mowing areas, and enhancing rock climbing access. No experience necessary, Urban Wilds staff will supply all necessary tools and supplies.
