We're releasing the final version of Imagine Boston 2030 during an interactive showcase that will feature hands-on ways to engage with the plan. Imagine Boston 2030 is Boston's first citywide plan in over 50 years. The plan prioritizes inclusionary growth and puts forth a comprehensive vision to boost quality of life, equity, and resilience in every neighborhood in Boston.

The event is free and open to the public. Aside from the showcase, the launch party will include a block-party style celebration with:

  • live performers
  • food trucks
  • a beer garden
  • City department tables and booths
  • local businesses
  • the Imagination Playground, and
  • other family-friendly activities, arts, and more.

Mayor Martin J. Walsh presents Caliente! This free event will take place on Saturday, July 22, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bachata Heightz headline the tenth annual Latin music festival.

“An urban-influenced bachata group from New York,” Bachata Heightz gained prominence in 2009 with their hit single “Me Puedo Matar.” All five members, Jerry García, Jeffrey Cruz, Aneudy Hernandez, Jonathan García, and Diego Capellán, are of Dominican descent. The group signed a recording contract with Sony Music and released their debut album, "The First," in 2009.

Caliente! is promoted by Noticiero Telemundo Boston. Weather Anchor Cecy Gutierrez will be emceeing the event.

Fun Stop at BCYF Leahy-Holloran Community Center/Garvey Park

BCYF Fun Stops are free drop-in programs. Youth ages 8-14 can attend. Activities include structured games, sport activities, and art projects.

Fun Stops are an affordable, flexible option for parents. They offer a summer activity for children for a couple hours a day.

Each location may serve up to 50 children on a first-come, first-served basis. Some locations provide lunch. Other locations sites may require children to bring their own lunch. Please confirm with staff in advance.
