The Community Forum on Disability Issues is an event which brings together:

  • members of the local disability community
  • City of Boston staff
  • Mayor’s Commission for Persons with Disabilities Advisory Board members, and
  • disability advocates to discuss current issues affecting the local disability community.

Attendees have the opportunity to raise questions and concerns about accessibility in Boston, and have their issues heard. We want to hear from you!

  • Provide input to the City of Boston’s Annual Accessibility Agenda
  • Hear updates from Disability Commissioner Kristen McCosh
  • Meet members of the Boston Disability Commission Advisory Board
  • Make your concerns about accessibility known to City Officials
  • Network with Disability Community Friends over Free Food & Drinks

A Memory Cafe is a place where individuals with memory loss and their caregivers can get together in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. It is a time and place where people can interact, laugh, find support, share concerns and celebrate with other people experiencing memory challenges and their care partners. Attendees enjoy refreshments, conversation, and activities in a relaxed, supportive setting.  A caregiver must accompany participants requiring special assistance. A Memory Cafe offers a participatory program or guest facilitator each month.

A collaborative project by the Boston Interagency Committee on Youth Violence Prevention (Boston Police Department, Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, City of Boston Office of the Mayor, Boston Centers for Youth & Families, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, MassHousing, and the Office of the Governor of Massachusetts), and Boston Public Schools, with support from the Boston Police Activities League, JAM’N 94.5, and Roxbury Community College.

City of Boston dog licensing and low-cost rabies clinic

Animal care is offering low cost-clinics across the City.

BOSTON DOG LICENSING FEES
  • $15 for spayed and neutered pets. Please provide proof.
  • $30 for intact males and females
  • For seniors residents over 70, there is no charge to license their pets.
RABIES VACCINE FEES
  • Boston residents: $5
  • Boston residents who are seniors over 70: $2
  • Non-residents: $10

Three-year rabies vaccines will be given if you are able to show proof of a previous rabies vaccine. All pets must be accompanied by a person 18 years or older and on leash or in a carrier.
