The Neighborhood Coffee Hours give residents a unique opportunity to speak directly with Mayor Walsh about open space and other needs in their neighborhoods.

Special talk by Matt Lambros, author of "After the Final Curtain," about the history of theaters in America. After the talk, participants will tour the Everett Square Theatre, one of the city’s last vaudeville theatres, not normally open to the public.

Joseph Cornish, Director of Design Review for the Boston Landmarks Commission, will lead a tour of Beacon Hill. This tour features the work of American architect and author Asher Benjamin.

90-minute tour to experience historic architectural design. Grove Hall buildings illustrate a variety of architectural styles from Queen Anne and Colonial Revival of the late 1800s through Craftsman and Art Deco of the 20th century. Tour leader: Ed Gordon, architectural historian.

Everyone knows the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Cambridge institution with a global reputation. But for its first 55 years, MIT called the Back Bay home. On the 100th anniversary of MIT’s move to Cambridge, join Boston By Foot to trace “Boston Tech” from its founding to its move across the Charles River. 

The tour meets at 10 a.m. at the Berkeley Street entrance to Restoration Hardware. There is a fee for this tour.

On May 1, 2017 join the Boston Landmarks Commission (BLC) and co-sponsor The Bostonian Society for the 2017 Preservation Month Kick-Off at one of Boston's most prestigious Landmarks, the Old State House. 

Celebrate Boston history with a short program featuring preservation planner Lynn Smiledge. The program, entitled "So how about that CITGO sign?", highlights some of her recent experiences as BLC's Chair.

New annual Citizen Preservation Awards will recognize two outstanding individuals who help keep Boston, Boston.
