Mayor Martin J. Walsh will gather with local faith leaders for an interfaith service to commemorate International Overdose Awareness Day. The event will also kick off Recovery Month programming for September 2017. City Hall will be lit purple tonight, the recognized color for drug overdose awareness, to honor those impacted by overdose.

The City of Boston holds a preliminary municipal election to narrow down the amount of candidates ahead of the November 7 general election.

You can see the certified list of candidates in ballot order below. There will be no preliminary municipal election for city councilor at large. There also won't be a preliminary election for district city councilor in districts 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8. Not sure what district you live in? Search your address with our district map.

The Boston Transportation and Public Works Departments are hosting a drop-in meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. to provide an update on the construction schedule and process. A formal presentation will not be made, so neighbors are welcome to stop by at any point during the meeting. 

Our public bike share system is getting bigger and even better! In Boston, we are adding more than 70 new stations over the next two years.

We need your help finding great places in the South End for bike share stations! We will focus on the South End and nearby neighborhoods during the workshop. We will have materials available so that you can discuss all neighborhoods under consideration for the expansion.

You do not need to be a resident of the South End to attend this workshop.
