Please join Boston Centers for Youth & Families, the City of Boston’s Public Facilities Department, and the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services for a community meeting to discuss the construction process and progress for the design of the new community center in the North End. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 6pm at the BCYF Nazzaro Community Center at 30 North Bennet Street in the North End.

Established in 2022, our mission at the Office of Historic Preservation is to safeguard Boston's rich cultural heritage while amplifying the voices of underrepresented Bostonians. Housed within the Environment, Energy, and Open Space Cabinet, our department includes the Boston Landmarks Commission, the City Archaeology Program, and the Commemoration Commission.

Over the next several months the Office of Historic Preservation will continue it's outreach efforts to various neighborhood groups. The presentations aim is to advocate for a new framework showcasing how historic preservation can address some of Boston's pressing challenges in environmental sustainability, social equity, and affordable housing.

Looking for support getting connected to resources and navigating City services? Meet with the Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Advancement during our community office hours at the East Boston Branch of the Boston Public Library. 

Office hours will take place on the following days:

• First Thursday of every month from 4 - 7 p.m.

The ORC is hosting an in-person information session for returning citizens interested in a college degree with Duet on March 12 from 4 - 6 p.m. in Duet's student lounge and study center!

Duet is a college coaching non-profit in Boston that partners with Southern New Hampshire University to proved faster more flexible and more affordable ways to get a college degree.

The Office of Returning Citizens is hosting a CORI Sealing and Expungement Workshop with the Harvard Defenders on March 28, from 3 - 4:30 p.m. in the ORC offices.

Harvard Defenders is a student-run public defense organization and the sole legal service provider in Massachussetts offering pro bono representation to low-income individuals in criminal show-cause hearings.

Join us on March 21, from 2 - 4 p.m. at the ORC office for an information session for folks who have had outstanding issues with the IRS, including back taxes, identity theft, audits, debt cancellations ect.

The clinic will help you with any issues you're facing, answer any questions you may have, and give free legal help on your tax questions.
