Performing for their friends, family, teachers, principals and special guests, each team astounds the audience with their poetry and team performances. SCORES poet-athletes have been perfecting their team performance throughout the fall while learning different ways to express themselves through creative writing. Passionate writing coaches guide students throughout the year and support students as they find their voice.

The Slam follows a theme that directs how poet-athletes and writing coaches craft their original works.  Past themes have included “Walk with me,” "Wouldn't it be nice (if)," and “Last night I dreamt.” The themes elicited strong and personal poems from our poet-athletes. This year will be no different with the theme of "My Generation." Under this year's theme, team poems will focus on one of the following:

1. Dear President
2. My Roots
3. My Future
4. My Hero 

These events are a great opportunity to witness the amazing work of SCORES poet-athletes and a chance to celebrate and acknowledge the hard work of every participant in our program. Please join us! These events are open to the public and free of charge.

Dances are set to powerful stories of courage and perseverance from Boston's Youth.  There is a free matinee performance for Boston Public School children and  the students who courageously shared their stories will be honored at both performances.

Join the Roxbury Center for the Performing Arts and the "A" Major Dance Company as they take you on the cultural journey of the birth of Christ. There will be two performances on Saturday, November 19, 2016. Tickets are $30 in advance.

Free Movie and Candy for all who are wearing their Halloween Costumes. Doors open at 2 p.m. Food is available for $5 and we also have face painting for $2. 

Come join us for a night of fright and fun if you dare! We also have costumes, games, refreshments, and more.

Halloween Party in BCYF Nazzaro Community Center Playground features food, music, bouncy rides, and a haunted house. Later, head to the NEMPAC Halloween Party in Paul Revere Mall where there is food, music, face painting, games, and more from 5-8 p.m.

Mission Hill's annual "Halloween on the Hill" starts at the BCYF Tobin Community Center and ends at One Brigham Circle.

In collaboration with Mission Hill Youth Collaborative and many local agencies, families can participate in the following activities: Haunted Halls at the Tobin, Pony Rides, pumpkin painting, trick or treating and more
