The Boston Fitness & Wellness Enterprise Growth Program is a 6-week cohort-style program designed to support existing fitness and wellness businesses build a strong and sustainable business post-pandemic. In this program, businesses will walk away education and support to grow their fitness and personal training businesses.

Specific contracted support will include:

  • Expert-led workshops
  • 30 hours of individualized coaching

This program will consist of 6 in-person and virtual training sessions to support and engage entrepreneurs. The proposed 6-week program will be executed as follows:

Week 1 – Kick Off & Business Model Framework (in-person)

During this workshop, participants will get the opportunity to learn about the program and participant expectations. After the program introduction, participants will start the business planning and growth plan development process by building a Business Model Canvas.

Week 2 – Diversifying Your Fitness Business – Learn New Age Fitness & Wellness Business Models (Virtual)

In this workshop, participants will explore new market trends and customer insights for the fitness & wellness industry and how to capture new audiences by diversifying their business. Together we’ll explore new wellness business models that can be implemented post-program.

Week 3 – Accounting for Fitness & Wellness Businesses (virtual)

In this workshop, participants will learn basic bookkeeping and accounting strategies for fitness and wellness businesses, including customer relationship management systems and bookkeeping systems specifically targeted for Personal training and fitness businesses.

Week 4 – Marketing & Social Media Management for Fitness & Wellness Enterprises (virtual)

In this workshop, participants will learn best practices for marketing their fitness and wellness businesses through advertising, marketing, public relations, communications, and social media.

Week 5 – Building a Growth Strategy (virtual)

In this workshop we’ll use all the knowledge developed in previous workshops to develop a strong growth strategy for their business.

Week 6 – Putting your Growth Plan into Action (in-person)

This workshop will culminate the cohort by discussing ways to execute their growth strategy over the next several months.

A business model is a framework that describes how your product or service creates, delivers, and receives value. Before you can create a plan and financial forecast, you need to understand your business model. The business model canvas is a great tool for developing new or documenting existing business models. It is a visual chart with elements describing your business model and assists you in aligning your activities by illustrating potential trade-offs.

The Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Advancement, Boston Public Library, and Pathway for Immigrant Workers are hosting an information session for employers about how to sponsor a low-wage immigrant worker for a green card. An immigration lawyer will give a presentation and answer questions. The information session is on Monday, June 12 from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Commonwealth Salon of the Central Library in Copley Square.
