  2. COMMUNICATIONS FROM HIS HONOR, THE MAYOR:

    0768 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston, acting through its Department of Neighborhood Development, to accept and expend payments in the amount of Thirty Million Dollars ($30,000,000.00) given the City of Boston's Inclusionary Development Policy Fund for the purpose of producing and preserving affordable housing in the City of Boston.

    0769 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Seventeen Million One Hundred Forty-Six Thousand Three Hundred Sixty-One Dollars ($17,146,361.00) in the form of a grant for the FY19 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), awarded by the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development to be administered by the Department of Neighborhood Development. The grant will fund production and preservation of affordable housing; revitalizing neighborhood commercial districts; assisting the renovation of non-profit facilities; improving vacant lots; promoting and monitoring fair housing activities and assisting non-profit organizations in the operation of emergency shelters and workforce development programs.

    0770 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Five Million Three Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty Dollars ($5,336,980.00) in the form of a grant for the FY20 HOME Investment Partner Grant, awarded by the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development to be administered by the Department of Neighborhood Development. The grant will fund the development of affordable housing. Eligible activities include new construction or rehabilitation of housing, tenant-based assistance for up to two years and assistance to first-time homebuyers. All HOME funds must be used to benefit low-and-moderate-income households.

    0771 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Two Million Eight Hundred Ninety-Four Thousand Four Hundred Ninety-Four Dollars ($2,894,494.00) in the form of a grant for the FY19 Housing for People with AIDS (HOPWA), awarded by the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development to be administered by the Department of Neighborhood Development. The grant will fund metropolitan-area housing counseling to help persons with AIDS find and retain affordable housing; technical assistance to developers of housing for persons with AIDS and emergency assistance payments to help persons with AIDS retain their existing housing to prevent homelessness.

    0772 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of One Million Four Hundred Sixty-One Thousand Nine Hundred Sixty Dollars ($1,461,960.00) in the form of a grant, for the Federal FY19 Emergency Solutions Grant, awarded by the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development to be administered by Neighborhood Development. The grant will fund assistance for individuals and families to help them quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a crisis or homelessness.

    0773 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000.00) in the form of a grant for the FFY 2019 Pedestrian and Bicyclist Safety Grant Program, awarded by the United States Department of Transportation, passed through the MA Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, to be administered by the Police Department. The grant will fund the Pedestrian and Bicyclist Safety Grant Program, using data to focus sharply on specific dates and locations where crashes occur.

    0774 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) in the form of a grant for the FY19 Massachusetts Budget Earmark, awarded by the MA Office of Business Development to be administered by the Boston Centers for Youth and Family Services. The grant will fund supplies and equipment for the fitness center and classroom and for building maintenance at the Roslindale Center.
