Tree Removal Hearing - Roxbury
The Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold a public hearing on Thursday, August 3, at 11 a.m. on a request to remove 13 public shade trees along Melnea Cass Boulevard in Roxbury.
The hearing will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee) in the 3rd floor Conference Room of the Boston Parks and Recreation Department at 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, Roxbury.

Removal of 13 trees in Roxbury
The request is for the removal of 13 trees in the vicinity of Sojourner Truth Place and Brook Marshall Road in Roxbury for construction of the Madison Melnea Cass Apartments project including four silver linden trees measuring 20” (2), 22”, and 25” dbh (diameter at breast height); two Norway maple trees measuring 17” and 18” dbh; two oak trees measuring 9” and 10” dbh; two poplar trees measuring 8”, 11”, and 19” dbh; one pear tree measuring 10” dbh; one apple tree measuring 5” dbh; and two elm trees measuring 9” and 18” dbh.
Public testimony will be taken at the hearing, or may be provided prior to the hearing in writing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd floor, Boston, MA 02118, or by emailing parks@boston.gov with “Roxbury Tree Hearing” in the subject line.
