Message and order that will authorize the Boston Transportation Department ("BTD") to enter into two contracts, with terms of up to 10 years, to deploy curbside electric vehicle ("EV") charging stations through a public/private partnership and at no cost to the City with a potential for revenue share. BTD has identified two vendors through the public procurement process that offer different models that address the distinct challenges to locate curbside EV charging.
This matter was sponsored by Mayor Michelle Wu, and referred to the Committee on January 24, 2024.
Attendance
In accordance with Chapter 2 of the Acts of 2023, modifying certain requirements of the Open Meeting Law and relieving public bodies of certain requirements, including the requirement that public bodies conduct its meetings in a public place that is open and physically accessible to the public, the City Council will be conducting this hearing virtually. This enables the City Council to carry out its responsibilities while adhering to public health recommendations and ensuring public access to its deliberations through adequate, alternative means.
