COMMUNICATIONS FROM HER HONOR, THE MAYOR
0989 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Sixty-Five Thousand Dollars ($65,000.00) in the form of a grant for the Racial Equity Fund, awarded by the Boston Charitable Trust to be administered by the Office of Equity. The grant will fund the City’s efforts, in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, to update the 2015 Color of Wealth in Boston report and create a data-driven action agenda to address the racial equity wealth gap in the City of Boston.
0990 Message disapproving the Annual Appropriation and Tax Order for FY2025, (Docket #0670), passed by the City Council on June 05, 2024. I am filing an amended Annual Appropriation and Tax Order.

0992 Notice was received from the Mayor of the appointment of Carlton Jones as Director of the Public Facilities Department, effective June 1, 2024.
0993 Notice was received from the Mayor of the appointment of Julie Kim as a Member of the Boston Public Library Board of Trustees for a term expiring May 1, 2029.

MATTERS RECENTLY HEARD-FOR POSSIBLE ACTION
0377 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of One Million Six Hundred Four Thousand Fourteen Dollars and Twenty Cents ($1,604,014.20) in the form of a grant, for the FY24 Hazmat Grant, awarded by the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services to be administered by the Fire Department. The grant will fund the needs of the hazardous materials response teams, as specified in line item 8324-0000 and 8324-0050 of the FY24 General Appropriation Act.
0378 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of One Million One Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars. ($1,125,000.00) in the form of a grant, for the FY24 State Training Grant, awarded by Massachusetts Department of Fire Services to be administered by the Fire Department. The grant will fund the purchase of equipment and supplies, and to fund training initiatives for the Boston Fire Training Academy to ensure the department remains current in the firefighting services.
0910 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Sixteen Thousand Eight Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars ($16,825.00) in the form of a grant, for the FY2020-2021 Port Security Grant, awarded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to be administered by the Fire Department. The grant will fund and support increased port-wide risk management and protect critical surface transportation infrastructure from acts of terrorism, major disasters, and other emergencies.
