    0931 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Two Million Two Hundred Ninety Nine Thousand One Hundred Seventeen Dollars and Sixty Eight Cents ($2,299,117.68) in the form of a grant for the FY23 State Elder Lunch Program, awarded by the MA Executive Office of Elder Affairs to be administered by the Age Strong Commission. The grant will fund nutrition services for older adults in the City of Boston, at the rate of $7.39 per meal for up to 311,112 meals.

    0932 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of One Million Four Hundred Eighty Six Thousand Sixty Three Dollars ($1,486,063.00) in the form of a grant for the Federal FY22 Emergency Solutions Grant, awarded by the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development to be administered by the Mayor’s Office of Housing. The grant will fund programs to help individuals and families quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis of homelessness.

    0933 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Four Hundred Thirteen Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety Dollars ($413,890.00) in the form of a grant, for the FY23 State 911 Training Grant, awarded by the MA Executive Office of Public Safety & Security to be administered by the Police Department. The grant will fund the training and certification of Enhanced 911 telecommunications staff.

The grant will fund the Preserving Boston’s Voices project: Digitizing the Boston 200 Community Oral History collection.

    0939 Message and order for your approval an order to fully authorized the creation of a Sheltered Market Program. During the pilot which ended on June 2022, we learned that this is a powerful and necessary tool to advance our administration’s mission to foster equity in City contracting. Following the success of the Sheltered Market Program is critically important to our larger efforts to ensure that Boston is an economically equitable City that offers opportunities for all communities to build wealth. To that end, I request that the Council reauthorize the Sheltered Market Program for an additional three (3) years.
