1391 Message and order for a supplemental appropriation request in the amount of Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00). This funding became available as a result of an unanticipated payment during the Fiscal Year 2018 to the City of Boston through the transfer of the Old City Hall leases. The funding will be used to allow the Boston Centers for Youth and Families to enter into a grant agreement with Urban Edge, a community-based non-profit, to assist in their efforts to bring a new youth recreation center which will include an ice skating rink and field house to Jackson Square.

1392 Message and order approving an appropriation of One Million Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($1,025,000.00) from the Edward Ingersoll Browne Fund for projects that will ornament the City’s streets, ways, squares and parks.

1393 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a grant of Four Hundred Forty Thousand Dollars ($440,000.00) from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation/Metropolitan Highway System Tunnels, to be administered by the Fire Department. The grant will fund reimbursement to the Boston Fire Department for maintenance and upkeep of foam capability for firefighting equipment in Metropolitan Highway Systems tunnels throughout the City of Boston.

1394 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a grant of One Hundred Fifty-One Thousand One Hundred Dollars ($151,100.00) for the FY17 Fair Housing Assistance Program, awarded by the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development to be administered by the Fair Housing and Equity Commission. The grant will fund the processing of housing discrimination complaints by the Fair Housing and Equity Commission.

1395 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a grant of Fifty Thousand One Hundred Ninety-Three Dollars ($50,193.00) in the form of a donation from the Friends of Puddingstone Park, Inc. ( Kevin W. Fitzgerald Park) c/o LPC Commercial Services, Inc., awarded by various donors to be administered by the Police Department. The grant would fund an electronic security project to enhance public safety in the Mission Hill neighborhood.

1396 Message and order declare surplus a  portion of land located at 338 East Eagle Street ( Ward 01, Parcel Number 03711003) and Condor Street (Ward 01, Parcel Number 03711002) and, also, declare surplus limited property interests located at Condor Street (Ward 01, Parcel Number 03711002), with such being transferred to the care, custody, management and control of the Public Facilities Commission.

1397 Message and order approving an increase in the Senior Citizen Property Tax Work-Off credit amount from One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) per fiscal year to a maximum of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00) per fiscal year, effective Fiscal Year 2019. By increasing the credit amount, the City will be able to offer participating seniors the maximum allowable credit pursuant to Section 5K of c. 59 of the Massachusetts General Laws, as most recently amended by Section 127 of Chapter 218 of the Acts of 2016.

1398 Message and order for the confirmation of the re-appointment of Carol Downs as a member of the Boston Redevelopment Authority and Economic Development Industrial Corporation, for a term expiring September 17, 2022.

1004 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to extend the property tax exemption for members of the Massachusetts National Guard and reservists who are serving in foreign countries, pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 59, Section 5 (56), the City of Boston shall extend the property tax exemption of up to 100% for active members of the National Guard or reservists for Fiscal Year 2018.

1050 Message and order authorizing the Boston Public Library Department to accept and expend a capital grant of Five Million Five Hundred Ninety-Seven Thousand Three Hundred Seventy-Four Dollars ($5,597,374.00) from the Massachusetts Public Library Construction Program (MPLCP) per the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, for the renovation of the Dudley Branch Library.
