Mayor Walsh's inaugural address at the Cutler Majestic Theatre will lay out his vision and priorities for his second term.

Mayor Martin J. Walsh today announced his second mayoral inauguration and the swearing-in of the new Boston City Council will take place on Monday, January 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Cutler Majestic Theatre.

Former Vice President Joe Biden will preside at the swearing-in ceremony, followed by Mayor Walsh's inaugural address that will lay out his vision and priorities for his second term.

"It has been an honor to serve Boston and its residents over the past four years," said Mayor Walsh. "We've made great strides since 2014, but we know our work to make Boston the best city for all is nowhere near over. I look forward to building on our first term accomplishments, setting goals for our second term, and working to make this amazing city better every day. I greatly admire Vice President Biden's dedication to our country and its people. I'm so humbled that he will preside over my inauguration ceremony, and be a part of this special day."

"Mayor Walsh is a close friend and an incredible public servant," said Vice President Biden. "I'm honored to be able to preside over his Inauguration next month so that he can continue his tireless work on behalf of the people of Boston."
