All weekly City Council meetings are held at 12 p.m. (noon) in the Christopher A. Iannella Chamber on the fifth floor of Boston City Hall, unless otherwise noted.

  2. COMMUNICATIONS FROM HER HONOR, THE MAYOR:

    1012    Message disapproving amended Docket #0627 "Ordinance to Make Boston 

        City Council's Web Page on the Boston City Website More Resourceful 

        and Accessible", passed by the City Council on May 10, 2023.

        1013    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of Five Hundred Forty Three Thousand One Hundred Twelve 

        Dollars. ($543,112.00) in the form of a grant, for the FY23 Safe and 

        Successful Youth Initiative for a period of three years, awarded by the MA 

        Executive Office of Health and Human Services to be administered by the 

        Police Department. The grant will fund a comprehensive, inter agency 

        strategy that connects law enforcement, employment, education, public 

        health and youth development agencies to reduce youth violence in the 

        Commonwealth.



        1014    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of Two Hundred Sixty Three Thousand Eighty Six Dollars 

        ($263,086.00) in the form of a grant, for the Federal FY23 Title III C 

        Nutrition Services Program, awarded by the U. S. Department of Health and 

        Human Services, passed through the MA Executive Office of Elder Affairs, 

        to be administered by the Age Strong Commission. The grant will fund the 

        nutrition services for old adults in the City of Boston. These services are 

        enhance by the Federal Nutrition Services Incentive Program and State 

        Elder Lunch Program grants.

        1015    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000.00) in the form 

        of a grant for Affordable Connectivity Outreach Program, awarded by the 

        Federal Communications Commission to be administered by the 

        Department of Innovation and Technology. The grant will fund citywide 

        outreach to connect up to 86,000 residents to broadband.

        1016    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of Thirty Six Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Two Dollars 

        (36,322.00) in the form of a grant, for the Federal FY23 Title III A, 

        awarded by the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, passed 

        through the MA Executive Office of Elder Affairs, to be administered by 

        the Age Strong Commission. The grant will fund cost for administration of 

        Title III programs.

        1017    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 

        amount of Thirty One Thousand Three Hundred Sixty Eight Dollars 

        ($31,368.00) in the form of a grant, for the FY23 Title III B Supportive 

        Services, awarded by the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, 

        passed through the MA Executive Office of Elder Affairs, to be 

        administered by the Age Strong Commission. The grant will fund 

        home based support services for older adults in the City of Boston.

        1018    Message and order authorization the City of Boston to accept and expend 

        the amount of Six Thousand Seven Hundred Twelve Dollars ($6,712.00) in 

        the form of a grant for the Federal FY23 Title III E Family Caregiver 

        Support Program, awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human 

        Services, passed through the MA Executive Office of Elder Affairs, to be 

        administered by the Age Strong Commission. The grant will fund Caregiver 

        Services for older adults in the City of Boston.

        1019    Message and order authorization of the City of Boston to accept and expend 

        the amount of Five Thousand Three Hundred Sixty Three Dollars 

        ($5,363.00) in the form of a grant for the Federal FY23 Title III D Disease 

        Prevention & Health Promotion, awarded by the U.S. Department of Health 

        and Human Services, passed through the MA Executive Office of Elder 

        Affairs, to be administered by the Age Strong Commission. The grant will 

        fund services that assist older adults in Boston to prevent illness and 

        manage chronic conditions.
