Online Digital Literacy Training
We have links to resources for digital literacy training.
In an increasingly digital world, we are quickly moving away from traditional methods of getting things done. Without the time to catch up, it becomes easy to feel left behind. We all have different levels of technology familiarity. Some of us have been immersed in it since birth, and some adopted it later in life. This difference influences our amount of internet access. It also highlights the disparity in digital literacy across many of our demographics. Fortunately, there are a few ways to brush up our digital skills.
Organizations like Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s “DOORS” and Tech Goes Home offer remote and in-person classroom style lessons. People in these lessons can come together at scheduled times, ask questions, and contribute to larger group discussions.
For non-classroom style options, companies like Comcast, Google, and Microsoft offer instructional-video-style lessons. People can engage with these lessons on their own time. Many of these organizatgions and companies offer their digital literacy training for free.
