Land and Funding - 8 Townsend Street, Roxbury
The City of Boston acting by and through its Public Facilities Commission by the Director of the Mayor's Office of Housing, Director's Office Division sells tax foreclosed or surplus municipal property to buyers who agree to invest in the rehabilitation of the property. The Grassroots Open Space Program makes land available specifically for the development of open space projects such as community gardens, urban farms, and passive open space.
This Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified nonprofit organizations or other entities for development of the parcels as open space. The property is being offered As Is, with up to $75,000 in possible funding available from the Grassroots Program.
The Property: 8 Townsend Street (Ward 11, Parcel # 01901000), Roxbury, MA, containing approximately 5,038 square feet. It is strongly recommended that prospective developers avail themselves of the opportunity to inspect the site by driving by.
The RFP package will be available on August 29, 2022, and can be downloaded by registering at https://www.boston.gov/departments/housing/requests-proposals. If you are unable to access the RFP, please contact the Program Manager. Completed RFP responses must be submitted electronically by October 4, 2022, no later than 4:00 pm.
