Virtual Tree Removal Hearing - Back Bay

The Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold a virtual public hearing on Thursday, July 14, at 10:30 a.m. on a request to remove four public shade trees due to an MBTA accessibility and improvements project at Arlington Station in the Back Bay.

    The request is for the removal of two elm trees measuring 2.5 and 4 inches dbh (diameter at breast height) and an additional two elm trees measuring 7 inches dbh each at 399 Boylston Street.

    The hearing will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee). Please note that the hearing will be a virtual meeting via ZOOM. Written comments or questions may be submitted to parks@boston.gov prior to the hearing. The information for the ZOOM hearing is as follows:

    Public testimony will be taken or may be provided prior to the hearing in writing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd floor, Roxbury, MA 02118 or by emailing parks@boston.gov with “Back Bay Tree Hearing” in the subject line.
