The City of Boston is seeking a partner to help the Department of Neighborhood Development (DND) complete a racial equity assessment and action plan. The selected vendor will work with the City to achieve the two main goals of fostering racial equity in the workplace and begin building the tools/infrastructure that will do the same in the communities we serve. We expect this work to involve level-setting workshops for staff, in-depth conversations and engagement with staff to understand the inequities that exist within the culture of the department, an examination of how our programs and policies contribute to systemic racism in Boston, and culminate in an action plan to create sustainable and measurable change. The anticipated initial contract term will be 06/21/21–6/30/22.

The Request for Proposals (“RFP”) package will be available beginning April 12, 2021, 9:00 AM from the City’s purchasing website, Supplier Portal (boston.gov/procurement), the City’s new online process for purchasing, bidding, contracting, vendor registration and payment. An applicant conference will be held on April 20, 2021 1:00 PM. Email marguerite.cramer@boston.gov to receive meeting login information for the applicant conference.

To access details for this specific Event, or to respond through electronic format, please visit the City of Boston Supplier Portal and access Event # EV00008848. Completed proposals must be submitted via the Supplier Portal before 4:00 PM, April 30, 2021.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to participate in these online procurement activities Bidders must register with the Supplier Portal at boston.gov/procurement. First-Time Vendors, i.e., those who have never contracted with the City or, if so, not for many years, will be required to obtain login credentials, a process which is subject to administrative delays.

The City of Boston thanks you for your interest in this opportunity.
