How to get a hawker and peddler license

Fill out an application for each worker

Each worker needs to complete a hawker and peddler license form. They also need to have their local police chief sign the Certificate of Character section of the application. The police check each applicant's criminal history through their fingerprints. The Boston Police charge $50 for this service.

The fee to apply is $62. You can pay with a check or money order made payable to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

    Each worker who handles money on a food truck needs to get a hawker and peddler license through the state. They need to renew the license every year.

    You only need to show us one hawker and peddler license when you apply for a food truck permit.
