The Diversity Recruitment Officer of the Boston Police Department will join the Young Professional Network at their annual leadership conference and host a session: A Seat at the Table, Finding a Voice in Today's Criminal Justice System. This session will discuss the importance of having a seat at the table when it comes to creating policies, policing the community, the judicial system and much more.

In 2011, YPN-ULEM established an Annual Leadership Development Conference (LDC) to provide opportunities for young professionals to enhance their personal and professional development skills in order to advance in leadership and their career paths. The conference is designed to address issues related to educational, personal and professional development. Additionally, this conference serves as a program for the National Urban League Young Professionals Day of Empowerment, a nationwide service activity held in conjunction with the National Urban League Guild.

Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP) is proud to join with the My Brother’s Keeper and the City of Boston to support young people by creating more opportunities and pathways to help them succeed. My Brother’s Keeper is working across the city to identify and bring down barriers that are keeping young people from reaching their full potential. One of the keys to this work is empowering relationships between young people and caring adults.

As part of the Mayor’s Mentoring Movement, mentoring programs throughout Boston are in need of caring adults to help provide a supporting relationship for a young person. In the past three years, more than 1,500 adults have answered the Mayor’s call, but there are still many more young people who need us!
