Friday Afternoon Concert Series: Salim Charvet
Salim Charvet will perform at Sam Adams Park on July 15, as part of the City of Boston's Friday Afternoon Concert Series in partnership with Berklee College of Music.
Born in Lyon, France, saxophonist and composer Salim Charvet began his studies at Berklee in the fall of 2019 with a full ride scholarship. As a student in the Global Jazz Institute, he currently is learning from masters of black American music like Joe Lovano, Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Ben Street, and Adam Cruz. Charvet’s musical vision takes its inspiration from all kinds of eras, styles, and regions of the world, allowing him to explore various musical territories always with the purpose of using the tradition to develop a more modern and personal sound.
