Join us at 11 a.m. for a special festival worship service. No birthday is complete without a party, so after worship we will celebrate! At 12:30 p.m., we will hold an outdoor ceremony, including:

• herald trumpets
• speaking by dignitaries
• an interfaith blessing, and
• much more.

The party starts at 1 p.m. and will include food, games, music, crafts, and fun for all ages.

When the West End was torn down and redeveloped as part of urban renewal in the late 1950s, a number of historically significant buildings were preserved. These buildings represent a lineage of early Boston architects: Charles Bulfinch, Asher Benjamin, Alexander Parris, and Gridley J.F. Bryant.

The West End Museum will be showing a video from its archives of Jane Jacobs giving a talk at Boston College, along with an exhibit called, "The Housing Act of 1949".

We are pleased to welcome long-time Roxbury resident, community organizer, and civil rights veteran Mimi Jones. She will facilitate a community reading series of works by influential women and people of color.

The event is free, dinner will be served, and all are welcome. Come early for a tour of our historic Meetinghouse — the oldest standing clapboard church in Boston!

This event is free, but registration is required. Doors open and the reception begins at 6 p.m. The program starts at 7 p.m.

We'll be honoring women's voices and contributions while recognizing the work still ahead. We will gather on the third floor mezzanine at Boston City Hall at 3:30 p.m., with remarks from special guests beginning around 3:45 p.m.

There will be visual art by local artists and refreshments for all to enjoy. This event is free and open to the public!
