This is a public meeting for representatives of nonprofit and community based organizations who are interested in engaging with the Boston Tree Alliance Program. During this meeting, we will provide general updates about the program and next steps moving forward for this year. We will discuss recommendations from the Alliance subcommittees and the upcoming grant process for tree planting and care projects. This meeting occurs monthly every second Thursday of the month.

Please register to attend a virtual information session to learn about the regional climate resilience effort for the Belle Isle Marsh on Wednesday, November 15 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Representatives from the City of Boston, the City of Revere, the Town of Winthrop, Woods Hole Group, and Friends of the Belle Isle Marsh will provide a summary of the Belle Isle Marsh's vulnerabilities, discuss completed work, and share updates about the recently funded coastal resilience projects at the Bennington Street in East Boston, Fredericks Park in Revere, and Morton Street in Winthrop. Join us to learn about the next steps for developing climate adaptation strategies and how you can be involved!

Compost your Halloween pumpkins at this family-fun event, featuring pumpkin-smashing activities and Olympic-style games for children of all ages. 

Join us to see how many pounds of pumpkins Boston can divert from the trash and into sustainable compost in just three hours!

  • Make sure to remove any candles, wax, and glitter from pumpkins.
  • Pumpkins with paint or permanent marker will not be accepted to be composted at this event.

  • We only take waste from Boston residents. You will need to show proof of residency. 
  • Paper shredding is offered at this event. Residents can bring up to 10 Staple sized boxes for shredding. 
  • We reserve the right to reject any material that does not meet our regulations.
