Long Wharf Flood Resilience Planning and Feasibility Community Workshop

March 26, 2025
2025-03-26T18:00:00 - 2025-03-26T20:00:00

The Planning Department is continuing to work on the Long Wharf Coastal Flood Resilience Planning and Feasibility Study. We have now completed initial site research and fact-finding engagements, established the basis of design, developed early conceptual design alternatives and gathered initial stakeholder input on the proposed options.

This workshop will present alternative designs to the broader community and seek feedback on the proposed options. In particular, we will invite input on how the proposed resilient design alternatives could best contribute to open space priorities, improved amenities and water-dependent uses, as well as protection of cultural assets and critical infrastructure on Long Wharf.

This engagement will enable us to seek feedback on the proposed schemes as we pursue the final stages of the project, including report publication and planning for permitting and implementation. Both this workshop and a public comment period prior to the release of the report will be opportunities for the community to provide valuable input.

We're hosting office hours for this event in the Leventhal Room at the Boston Harbor Hotel Monday 3/31 12-2 pm and Wednesday 4/2 5-7 pm. This is an opportunity for members of the community to meet with the Planning Department to share feedback on the March 26 public community workshop. These office hours will be held in the Leventhal Room at the Boston Harbor Hotel, 70 Rowes Wharf, Boston, MA 02110. Please sign up using this link.
