The Advisory Committee will make recommendations to the Mayor and the Mayor’s Office of Housing on strategies to stabilize Boston rents and protect tenants from displacement. 

Members of the public are invited to attend an upcoming listening session to share their thoughts and comments in response to the following questions:

• How should rent increases be capped?
• What types of properties should be exempt from rent stabilization?
• How should a rent stabilization policy be implemented and enforced?
• What other policies are needed to protect tenants from displacement?

Listening Sessions will be focused on specific stakeholder groups, but all are invited to attend.

Please join us for a community meeting on next steps for the development of the West End Branch Library. We will be sharing information on the process to develop a new branch facility and affordable housing on the site.

The Public Works Department will reconstruct State Street between Surface Road and Congress Street. At this meeting, we will provide an update on the project and our planned design approach.

• Locations for speed humps
• Locations for new crosswalks at Mount Pleasant Avenue and Forest Street
• Updated design for crosswalks near the Little Scobie Playground, including a raised crosswalk on Copeland Street and on Dunreath Street
• Design plans for Mount Pleasant Avenue near the Play Area
• Design plans for Moreland Street
• Information about potential street direction changes reuqested by neighbors
• Ideas for addressing wrong-way driving on Mount Pleasant Avenue and on Winthrop Street

This is the third community meeting to establish the types of uses and activities the community would like to see in a new center. The study is also exploring location options to build any potential centers on.

• Design plans for the intersection of Florence Street and Firth Street

The request is for the removal of one mulberry tree measuring 24 inches dbh (diameter at breast height) in the median strip opposite 220 Huntington Ave, one honey locust tree measuring 3 inches dbh on Cumberland Street, and one pear tree measuring 9 inches dbh on Cumberland Street.
