Applicant Conference for the 2024 Affordable Housing Development Funding Round

The City of Boston has issued two Rental Cooperative and Ownership Development Funding Requests for Proposals (RFPs):

  • The City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH) is focused on systematic approaches to address Boston’s housing inequities so that all people have access to safe, healthy, and affordable housing.  Our goal is to ensure that all Bostonians can live in homes that work for them and that they can afford.  By 2050, Boston must be a more equitable, resilient and affordable city for everyone.  To move us towards that reality, MOH, along with the Community Preservation Act (CPA), is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to provide access to approximately $21 million dollars of resources that will support qualified proposals from non-profit and for-profit developers of affordable rental, cooperative and homeownership developments.  In addition, MOH will provide up to $4 million dollars of funding to create and preserve supportive housing for homeless and/or aging populations.
  • The Neighborhood Housing Trust (NHT) is offering up to $15 million in funding to support the creation and preservation of rental, cooperative and homeownership housing.  Applicants are encouraged to leverage NHT funds with other public and private funding sources that are also available for affordable housing. This RFP targets those projects that, but for the availability of NHT funds, would have significant financing gaps. NHT seeks to provide grants to assist eligible developments that encourage innovative approaches to increase the production of housing that is affordable to a mix of incomes, support housing developments that seek to maintain mixed-income communities, as well as those that help preserve existing “at risk” developments.

The RFPs are available for download here.

Greenidge and Fields, both renowned for their pathbreaking work on abolitionism, the early civil rights movement, family history, popular memory, and the profound impact of slavery in New England, will introduce innovative public scholarship that challenges and expands our understanding of the past. This engaging panel will spark dialogue and offer fresh perspectives on the enduring legacy of Black history in New England. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with groundbreaking historians who are redefining our understanding of the region’s history.
