This project consists of a 29,087 square foot parcel in the Highland Park area of Roxbury. This parcel is currently in use as a community garden, urban farm, and public open space. MOH is exploring the the long term preservation of this site. MOH is accepting community feedback about the proposed development guidelines for a future RFP through the end of August. Thank you to the many community members who joined us to discuss the future of 95R Thornton Street. Thank you to the Highland Park Project Review Committee for co-hosting the meeting. Attendees suppor ted use of the site as a urban farm, community garden, and community gathering space. Attendees also expressed support for educational programming that creates opportunities for intergenerational connections. There was discussion of the possibility of making the land available via a long term lease instead of sale. MOH is looking into this option.
