Thanks to the community members who came to this meeting about the future of the land at 282-284 Washington Street in Dorchester and to the Guild for hosting us! Community members expressed various op
inions, including support for an urban farm at this site, desire for mixed use development including affordable commercial spaces, preservation of healthy mature trees, and a strong maintenance plan for any future use of the site. MOH intends to continue to engage with community members and schedule another community meeting in the coming weeks to gather more community feedback. The slides from the meeting are attached below.

282-284 Washington Street Virtual Community Meeting

Thank you to all the community members who joined us to discuss the future of the City-owned parcel at 282-284 Washington Street. Many attendees, including direct abutters of the parcel supported the
use of the parcel as an urban farm and the construction of a farm stand for fresh produces sales on the site. Several attendees indicated a preference for residential or mixed use development on the site that might include more commercial space. Attendees requested additional information about other projects on City-owned parcels in the neighborhood.
MOH will schedule another community meeting with a presentation about other projects in the neighborhood to solicit additional community feedback.

MOH conducted Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments of this parcel. The Phase I identified several Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs). Phase II testing did not reveal any indications of impacts to the site from the RECs identified in Phase I.
