400 Frontage Road Mechanical & Roof Repairs

The scope of work includes 400 Frontage Road Central Maintenance Facility needs replacement of three rooftop HVAC units that are in poor condition in order to provide the building with air conditioning during warm weather. The roof where these three units are located, along with one heating unit that is in process to be replaced through emergency work with PFD, needs to be replaced as it is a rubber roof in poor condition which leaks throughout the building. The boilers that provide heat to the building are in poor condition, recently failed State inspection, and need to be replaced. Public Facilities, Property Management, and external engineers and HVAC contractors have reviewed these items and made the recommendations for replacements further detailed in the plans and specifications available electronically only on or about April 10, 2023 upon request submitted to bid.info@boston.gov.

Filed Sub-bids and General Bids must be accompanied by a 5% bid bond deposit of the amount bid, DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility (approved in the applicable trade/category of work noted below), and DCAMM Update Statement. *All interested bidders are directed to the bid specifications and plans for full information on any and all requirements applicable to this bid.

All bids shall be filed with the Awarding Authority at the Bid Counter 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, Annex, Boston, MA 02118 before 12 p.m. (twelve o'clock) on April 19, 2023 for filed sub-bids and before 12 p.m. (twelve o'clock) on May 1, 2023 for General bids at which time and place respective bids will be opened forthwith and read aloud in person and virtually. A performance bond and labor and materials payment bond satisfactory to the Awarding Authority in the sum of 100% of the contract price will be required of the successful bidder. 

Expected contract duration is for 365 days. Prevailing wages shall apply.
